Bushwalking around Perth

There are a lot of interesting bushwalks that can be done around Perth, the capital of Western Australia.

Each winter my family and i go for a walk on a Sunday, of course weather permitting. Each of the walks is unique in its own way due to the geography of the greater Perth region.

Jarrahdale is a town south of Perth and has a wide range of beautiful forest walks of varying degrees of difficulty. Each winter we will complete at least one or two walks in the Jarrahdale region

1872 Heritage Railway Track Walk

The Heritage Railway Track was our most recent and one of the most beautiful that we have done in the area. There were a couple of sections which were also the most challenging.

The map states that the full loop but my Garmin recorded just under 10.5 Kms which included leaving the track for pictures, investigations and avoiding the deeper and wider puddles.

One of the view from the top of a very steep section.

The walk was wonderful and exhausting, but i would strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys their bushwalks. Take plenty of water, some snacks and as always a first aid kit.

As a side note, I was able to get phone reception most of the time during the walk, because notifications were coming through at different times and stages of the walk.
